More About Carey
The story of my path to becoming a Nurse Psychotherapist (CNP) began with a health crisis after the birth of one of my children. Debilitating adrenal fatigue was robbing me of my life and mental health. It was discovering a traditional, nutrient-dense diet, and proper supplementation that finally brought healing, and it quickly became my passion to share with others the successful and sustainable path to wellbeing that I had found.
Spending time as a Weston A Price Chapter Leader brought a wealth of experience and joy in teaching and coming alongside others on their journey to healing and eating a nutrient-dense diet. As a real food advocate, speaking to groups and media, lobbying for local farmers, and debating with many in leadership, from politicians to pathologists to state milk boards provided opportunity to solidify my knowledge of the benefits and science of nutrient-dense foods.
As a registered nurse for more than 25 years, including cardiac, Covid ICU, and mental health nursing, caring for the very sick in the medical arena has given me a rich understanding of the impact diet and mental wellbeing have in preventing and reversing illness.
AlereVia brings my experience and calling into a practice that embodies the intersection of healthcare and holistic wellness.
I believe that the transformative power of therapeutic conversation, coupled with a rich understanding of nutrient-dense diet and bio-individuality shapes a practice where healing begins with the understanding that everyone is unique, requires a unique path to health, and the critical link between mental health and diet.
My work places emphasis on the collaborative client-therapist relationship, and underscores the importance of a balanced, informed approach to health by blending the science of nutrition with the tools of conversation therapy to craft your path to well-being that is successful and sustainable.
